Local Area Network (LAN) Support

We provide computer, engineering, and other technical support, along with support for on-line systems, to ensure continuous operation of or customers' LANs. We work with our client's personnel to conduct periodic reviews of LAN performance, configuration, security, and system maintenance procedures and, when requested, evaluate LAN expansion options. We perform LAN hardware and software maintenance, troubleshooting, and backups, as required to maintain continuous LAN operation. When maintenance is required that will disrupt LAN service, we perform this service during non-business hours. We do the following:

  • Conduct periodic reviews of LAN performance, configuration, security, and system maintenance procedures for our clients.
  • Maintain computer rooms, telecommunications closets, and network centers.
  • Respond to calls related to problems with cabling, file servers, communication servers, print servers, and other LAN devices.
  • Support our client's current office automation platform and electronic mail systems. We also monitor and resolve problems with email servers and gateways.
  • Monitor email communications and are familiar with IT changes and issues that arise. We also keep customers aware of significant issues as they arise and take appropriate actions as required.
  • Conduct the following activities related to LAN planning:
  1. Review potential LAN applications, operations, external communications needs, and utilization;
  2. Evaluate LAN configuration and design issues, including capacity, speed, data storage, communications, security, and performance;
  3. Analyze LAN expandability to meet the needs of future changes in programs, staffing, and organizations;
  4. Conduct reviews of, and inventory existing, workstations and software licenses and identify cabling options and any environmental constraints;
  5. Maintain comprehensive LAN designs, cabling diagrams; and
  6. Coordinate all planning activities with our customersstaff to ensure standard configurations, software, processes, and systems.
